Our team of roped access technicians carrying out the investigative, diagnostic and make-safe survey to the façade elevations of the World Trade Centre, Dubai are enjoying clear blue sky, no winds and temperatures in the early 30’s – much like our teams are experiencing in the UK!!
Works are progressing well and the teams are enjoying accessing this iconic Dubai skyline building.
Congratulations to Anthony Sinden – Graduate Engineer with the Company’s Civil Engineering Consultancy Division.
Anthony attended the external independent IRATA training course last week and qualified a Level 1 Roped Access Technician
Amidst fierce competition, Concorr have secured and been awarded the hugely prestigious project to carry out the condition survey, make-safe and diagnostic testing to the façade of one of Dubai’s most prestigious landmark high-rise buildings.
The Sheik Rashid Tower as it is also known was built in 1979, has 33 occupied floors, over 344,000 square feet of office space and is one of
Dubai’s most recognised building.
Group Managing Director, Michael Nugent said “ this is a great survey and client to have secured and we will be able to demonstrate the quality of our services and staff, which has been the key to our continued growth in both The United Arab Emirates and across the Middle East”.
Concorr teams have already made pre-start visits and our roped access engineers will start the survey tasks during February. Every square metre of the façade will be inspected and tested, then reported on using industrial roped access techniques.
A bridge inspection and diagnostic testing survey to a large concrete, steel and brick bridge in west London needed to be carried out in an 18 hour line possession.
The survey included diagnostic testing, invasive investigations to steel beams and the tie rods, bearing inspections and break-outs for evaluation.
In order to meet the hugely demanding deadline, Concorr placed three teams of technicians on the project, each working independently of the others to perform the tasks.
The survey was completed 4 hours ahead of schedule to the delight of the client.
Well done to all those team members and all who played a part in this survey, which was planned and executed with military precision.
Concorr carry out many such surveys – please contact us for information.
Concorr continues to be at the forefront of staff training, both internal and external accreditation.
Recently we have held both Health and Safety induction courses and update training at Halls Place training venue.
Courses were taken by our Health and Safety Manager – Nick Posener.
Asbestos awareness training to UKATA standards has now also been carried out with all site and technical staff holding certification – a 100% pass rate was recorded in the exam!
Our congratulations also go to technician -Ben Hall who recently attended the mandatory external 1 week evaluation and test for IRATA certification in industrial roped access .
WELL DONE BEN!
The surveys division has recently been successful in a multiple high rise tower block inspection package for a City Council client.
The project will see our teams carry out roped access inspections and diagnostic testing to a package of tower blocks.
A team of technicians have returned to the UK from Abu Dhabi having completed the first phase of a large project to survey the country’s largest Desalination and Power Plant
Phase I was to carry out condition surveys to 17 structures as well as over 300 ground penetrating radar scans.
The teams worked from and with the support of Concorr’s UAE office and despite working in temperatures of 50 degrees, completed the surveys on time.
The company is currently experiencing rapid growth in the Middle East adding 5 projects to the already busy UAE office.
