Manchester will be the city that will host the third CPD seminar of the season on The Inspection, Diagnostic Testing & Reporting on Buildings and Structures.

This half day seminar, will take place on the 26th of September at The YHA Manchester Conference Centre.

Several presentations will be held on the following topics:

Methods of Cathodic Protection to Reinforced Concrete.

Registration will start at 11.00 am for an  11.30 am start. Each presentation will last around 40 minutes, with the event finishing at approximately 3.00 pm. Refreshments  will be available before the event and a lunch buffet will be served .

This Seminar is free of charge and a CPD will be given upon request.

Surveying in Abu Dhabi

We have secured an offshore communications tower survey on an oil platform off Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

A team of corrosion engineers will attend the platform by helicopter, staying on board while the inspection is carried out using climbing techniques.

This is one of the many Middle East projects currently being secured by us via UAE office.

Following our extensive 2004 surveys at Battersea Power Station for the last owners, we are pleased to have been engaged once again by the present owners and are currently carrying our large packages of consultancy/surveys works.

Our works include surveys to the Facades as well as the 4 iconic chimneys where our roped access teams are climbing and descending each of them at the present.

On time and to budget

The Project Management Division of the Concrete & Corrosion Consultancy Practice Ltd was appointed by a major American Bank as technical project managers on a design and build project to refurbish the facade of the prestigious Grade 1 listed Newgate Building in St Pauls.

The building is 4 storeys high with extensive ornate facade elevations.

The project consisted principally of  scaffolding access, nebular spray cleaning with elaborate water control, timber repairs to the windows, redecoration of all previously decorated areas and stone repairs to a highly demanding specification.

The facade and envelope to the building consists of multiple finishes including limestone, redbrick, timber and decorative cast iron and rainwater goods.

The high level specification refurbishment was completed 10% ahead of an already tight program and kept to budget to the clients delight!

The Concrete & Corrosion Consultancy Practice Ltd will be exhibiting tomorrow at the Construction, Engineering and Design Expo,on the 11th of October 2012.

The exhibition which promises to be one of the most exciting and innovative events in the South East, and the largest construction event in Kent, will be held in the Historic Dockyard, Chatham. It is free to attend and a “must go” for any business or individual involved with the Construction, Engineering or Design Industry.

The Concrete and Corrosion Consultancy Practice will be exhibiting on the stand 69, please come along to say hello.

November CPD Presentation

At the Concrete & Corrosion Consultancy Practice we would like to introduce our  free of charge seminar for the autumn-winter season 2012-2013.

This first half day CPD seminar will take place on Thursday the 8th of November of 2012 at the Union Jack Club, Waterloo Conference Centre, London.
